--------------------------------------------------------------------- IR32616 has been installed. Patch created on: 2nd of July, 1996. Patch applies to: SNACOM, CSD CPG5289 _only_. Patch consists of (in the c:\nsca directory): File: Date: Time: Size: ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ DEBUGNSC.EXE 1-15-96 15:17 194295 This is a self extracting executable, which contains the debugger exectuable: NSCADBUG.EXE 1-09-96 15:19 187904 Description of the problem: SNACOM CSD CPG5289 shipped only partial support for the Augusta (single-slot) ESCON adapter. Namely, the two most frequently used of the four OS/2 3172 ESCON device drivers supported Augusta, but the debugger, NSCADBUG.EXE, did not. This means that these device drivers and the debugger are incompatible, even on T5.2 (dual-slot) ESCON adapter systems. Thus, on a 3172 (with SNACOM CSD CPG5289 installed) that has been configured using the SNACOM Configurator, LSASETUP.EXE, (as will normally be the case), when the ESCON debugger is run it will trap (it causes a SYS3175 (i.e. trap D) as the initial PM window is being displayed). Description of the fix: This patch ships a version of the debugger (in self-extracting executable format) that is compatible with the ESCON device drivers in CPG5289 that contain the Augusta support (namely, those used in normal circumstances: NSCADD.SYS and NSCADDI.SYS). ---------------------------------------------------------------------
