PLXX494 - APAR=IR37535 March 25, 1998 This is the 3172 ICP SuperPatch for V332, used for Model 2s. This PLXX494 patch replaces the previous V332 superpatch (PLXX400-IR31365) 1. PLXX372 - IR30469 a. CSP1CIF0.MTX 1. Adds a buffree to gettaskinfo on failure. 2. RC=0001 on failing startlan. 3. Disable DBI, use DPI instead. 2. PLXX358 - IR30180 a. CSP1LSA0.MTX 3172 was not exiting busy state correctly after severe congestion 3. PLXX438 - IR32550 June 24, 1996 a. CSP1LSA0.MTX This fixes incorrect logging of 141B's during a race condition between vtam and the closing link station. Both were sending close_stations during the a time window when there were outstanding (as yet un-acked) Type 2 I frames. It also resulted in an orphan LSA control block, depleting that resource by 1 every time the 141B log occurred. 4. PLXX460 - a. CSP1LSA0.MTX It reapplies the $LSA task, and adds a 1420 log when a FRMR happens. The 1420 log contains the DLC Status Message that explains the reason for the FRMR (Frame Reject). 5. PLXX463 - IR35172 a. CSP1LSA0.MTX It corrects a problem that resulted in a 1202 logged by $LLC. When Vtam had sent a close station down to LSA, but we still had I-frames outstanding (unacked), that close-station was put on hold in pending state. If during this pending window, a FRMR (frame reject) happened that event would generate another close-station, and that FRMR would cause a 2nd close-station to be generated, the duplicity of these commands caused a 1202 condition. This condition has been corrected. 6. PLXX470 - IR35935 a. CSP1LSA0.MTX This patch is an extension of PLXX463, it adds the protection to another similar code path. 7. PLXX355 - IR30168 a. CSP1LLC0.MTX Fixes some 1201 and 1202 logs by LLC. 8. PLXX385 - IR30832 a. CSP1LLC0.MTX This fixes the Reject Frame processing problem. 9. PLXX384 - IR30890 a. CSP3NTB0.MTX This fix frees the buffer after the 1B04 log. 10. PLXX492 - IR37231 a. CSP3NTB0.MTX Incoming Netbios lan frames that have something wrong with them will cause a 3172 $NB log to happen, either a 1B04 or an 1108. Each incoming frame causes a log. If these frames come in at a very fast rate, the logs will pile up on the errtask mailbox (who cannot keep up with the incoming lan frame rate) and when approx 40,000 of these pile up, the operating system runs out of message blocks and logs a 1200. We now filter these logs to one per minute to avoid this problem. 11. PLXX445D a. CSP1CIF0.MTX Enhances the DPI interface via CIF task when the psca is configured above 16M, and used for a TCPIP connection. 12. PLXX445C - IR33928 a. CSP2CHA0 MTX The Parallel Channel Driver b. CSP2CHA0 ABS The Parallel Channel Microcode Corrects problem where 3172 Parallel channel adapter would not notify mainframe of system failure. 3172 will unit check all active channel interfaces with sense data 0x14. 13. PLXX403 - IR31402 a. CSP2CHA0 MTX The Parallel Channel Driver b. CSP2CHA0 ABS The Parallel Channel Microcode 3172 MODEL 2 PARALLEL CHANNEL ADAPTER CAN HANG. ERROR DESCRIPTION: Parallel Channel adapter in 3172 Model 2 can hang. If 2 adapters are present the hang may not be permanent, and the problem would appear as a performance problem. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: Under certain timing conditions, the psca line driver was locking out microcode interrupts when buffer interrupts were received. The code was changed to avoid that. --------------end of plxx494.txt file--------------------------
