(R) Registered trademark of International Business Machines Corporation. LIMITATIONS: The PS/2 Ultimedia Model M57 SLC uses the IBM 386 SLC microprocessor. With 24-bit addressing, the 386 SLC microprocessor, like the i386 SX (386SX) microprocessor, is limited to a maximum memory address space of 16MB. Of this 16MB of memory address space, the system requires 1MB plus 128KB for its use. The remaining 14.875MB of available memory address space includes a combination of all memory present on the system board and any memory that may be installed on any adapter cards, regardless of their function. The remaining 14.875MB is available for the operating system and the applications. If there is memory address space memory on adapter cards that is not part of the operating system memory, the 14.875MB is reduced by the total amount of memory on the adapter cards. The PS/2 Ultimedia Model M57 SLC supports 2MB, 4MB and 8MB memory SIMMs (70ns only). In order to take advantage of enhanced performance via interleaved memory, memory SIMMs should be installed using all 2MB or all 4MB SIMMs. (Only one, two or three 2MB SIMMs, or two or three 4MB SIMMs provide memory interleaving.) The 8MB SIMMs do not provide interleaving. Refer to the PROGRAMMING REQUIREMENTS section for operating system limitations.
