XLSFONTS(1) AIX XLSFONTS(1) NAME xlsfonts - server font list displayer for X SYNOPSIS xxxxllllssssffffoooonnnnttttssss [-options ...] [-fn pattern] DESCRIPTION _X_l_s_f_o_n_t_s lists the fonts that match the given _p_a_t_t_e_r_n. The wildcard character "*" may be used to match any sequence of characters (including none), and "?" to match any single character. If no pattern is given, "*" is assumed. The "*" and "?" characters must be quoted to prevent them from being expanded by the shell. OPTIONS ----ddddiiiissssppppllllaaaayyyy _h_o_s_t::::_d_p_y This option specifies the X server to contact. ----llll[[[[llll[[[[llll]]]]]]]] This option indicates that medium, long, and very long listings, respectively, should be generated for each font. ----mmmm This option indicates that long listings should also print the minimum and maximum bounds of each font. ----CCCC This option indicates that listings should use mul- tiple columns. This is the same as ----nnnn 0000. ----1111 This option indicates that listings should use a single column. This is the same as ----nnnn 1111. ----wwww _w_i_d_t_h This option specifies the width in characters that should be used in figuring out how many columns to print. The default is 79. ----nnnn _c_o_l_u_m_n_s This option specifies the number of columns to use in displaying the output. By default, it will attempt to fit as many columns of font names into the number of character specified by ----wwww _w_i_d_t_h. ----uuuu This option indicates that the output should be left unsorted. ----oooo This option indicates that _x_l_s_f_o_n_t_s should do an OOOOppppeeeennnnFFFFoooonnnntttt (and QQQQuuuueeeerrrryyyyFFFFoooonnnntttt, if appropriate) rather than a LLLLiiiissssttttFFFFoooonnnnttttssss. This is useful if LLLLiiiissssttttFFFFoooonnnnttttssss or LLLLiiiisssstttt---- FFFFoooonnnnttttssssWWWWiiiitttthhhhIIIInnnnffffoooo fail to list a known font (as is the case with some scaled font systems). BUGS Doing ``xlsfonts -l'' can tie up your server for a very long time. This is really a bug with single-threaded non- preemptable servers, not with this program.
