Ethernet configured for VTAM. * 2. FDDI configured for VTAM. * 3. FDDI (TCPIP or VTAM) with PMF non-default password being used. * 4. Ethernet with OF/2 connection. * AND * that profile has been edited-saved after installing the original V3402 * THEN * some of the configuration parameters may have been altered. * * In Addition, * Customers that are new installs of V342 and have created profiles * will also need repair. * * A profile is composed of various parameters, and only some of * the parameters are affected by this problem. * These parameters are affected by this problem. * * Ethernet adapters -- * 1. Multi-cast address being used to connect to OF/2 * 2. All the 802.2 LLC parameters * 1. Acknowledgement window * 2. Transmit window * 3. Response Timer (T1) * 4. Acknowledge Timer (T2) * 5. Inactivity Timer (Ti) * * FDDI adapters -- * 1. PMF password * 2. All the 802.2 LLC parameters * 1. Acknowledgement window * 2. Transmit window * 3. Response Timer (T1) * 4. Acknowledge Timer (T2) * 5. Inactivity Timer (Ti) * * * The Solution - * The fix is packaged as a replacement V3402 OF/2 diskette. * You install the OF/2 diskette in the usual manner, ie. * With the new IR33108 OF/2 diskette in Drive A:, use "install A: C:". * (The drives you chose may vary from the example). * * The IR33108 OF/2 install program does the following - * 1. First, it makes a backup copy of each and every profile * under the C:\OF2VER3\CONFIG subdir. * You will see the files as "boxname.X0n" * 2. The profiles on C:\OF2VER3\CONFIG are examined, and if there is * evidence that it may be corrupted, then the parms from the above list * are reset to their default values. * A file is generated C:\OF2VER3\CONFIG\PROFILE.FIX that contains * a history of any files that have been modified by this procedure. * Please check PROFILE.FIX (type it out or edit). If you had configured * NON-default values (for any of the parameters listed above) then you * will have to go back and re-configure the values in the normal manner * using OF/2. * 3. The rest of the installation is standard. * * We sincerely regret the incident, and apologize for the * inconvenience that this problem may have caused you. * 3172 ICP Support * * *--------------------------------------------------------------------- * * PLXX443 is packaged as a self-extracting executable file. * Download to a PS2 workstation subdirectory and type PLXX443. * * PLXX443 EXEBIN * V3402 Operator Facility Diskette 09/24/96 README PAT_EXE * downloading instructions 11/30/95
