* * PLXX506B APAR = IR39927 V3500 OF/2 April 8, 1999 * * This is a replacement diskette for the V350 OF/2. * * PLXX506B allows a session to be established with an ICP which is loaded * with a configuration that is Non_IEF. The Operator is warned that * the IEF MUST BE DISTRIBUTED to the 3172 before the 3172 is * re-IPLed with the IEF Config, then the Operator is asked if he/she * is sure to continue. * * (PLXX506B superceeds & replaces PLXX505, 502, 487, 472, 468, and 455.) *--------end of PLXX506B--------------------------------------------------- * PLXX505 APAR = IR39022 V3500 OF/2 October 30, 1998 * (OF/2 is the Operator Facility configurator for the 3172 ICP code). * * The following changes have been made: * * 1. More than 64 gateway definitions can now be viewed in a Profile. * * 2. Two new menu options have been added to the Utilities menu. * * 1) CREATE CONFIGURATION DISKETTE * -Use when: * a) a configuration is too large to make working diskette 1 * b) the 3172 configuration needs to be updated, but code does not. * -This disk will contain files for configuration & for ipling the 3172. * -NOTE - when creating this diskette, select the appropriate patches * that are applied to the 3172. Although this does not load code to * the 3172, this diskette can be used with the OF/2 option - 'Display * Working Diskettes' - and the code level will appear there. * * USING WITH THE 3172: * -With the configuration diskette in the 3172 diskette drive, * use the keypad command 'CCA enter, CCA enter' to load the * configuration files. When the files have been copied, remove * the diskette and re-ipl the 3172. * * 2) CREATE CODE DISKETTES * -If a configuration is too large to fit on working diskette 1, the * code diskettes can be used along with the configuration diskette * instead of the working diskettes. * -Three code diskettes will be created, similar to working diskettes, * but the configuration files are on the 'configuration diskette'. * -NOTE - the first code diskette cannot be used with the OF/2 option - * 'Display Working Diskettes', use the configuration diskette for this. * * USING WITH THE 3172: * -After the 'CCA enter, CCA enter' command has been executed with the * configuration diskette, REMOVE the diskette. Insert the first code * diskette and execute the keypad commmand 'CCD enter, CCD enter'. * * 3. 'HELP' has been updated with information about the 2 new menu options. * * This is a replacement diskette for the V350 OF/2. * *--------end of PLXX505--------------------------------------------------- * * PLXX502 APAR = IR38073 V3500 OF/2 June 17, 1998 * (OF/2 is the Operator Facility configurator for the 3172 ICP code). * * Year 2000 Compliancy * 1. The system.log can now be viewed with an ending date of * Year 2000 or above. * * 2. The system.log displays the Year 2000 as '00', not '0'. * * This is a replacement diskette for the V350 OF/2. * *--------end of PLXX502--------------------------------------------- * * PLXX487 APAR = IR37066 V3500 OF/2 Jan 06, 1998 * (OF/2 is the Operator Facility configurator for the 3172 ICP code). * 1. Bug fix. Establish session, select the last TOCHNxxx in the * "Functions" list; the very last definition will be missing; * (if there are greater than ONE defined for the same path). * That is, if you have a EN2 and a TR3 both using the same * escon path, but they have different IP addresses, the last * one that is defined in the boxname.00n file will not * be displayed in the window called "parameters for:". * * This is a replacement diskette for the V35 OF/2. * *--------end of PLXX487--------------------------------------------- * * * * *PLXX472 APAR = IR36416) V3500 OF/2 Sept 22, 1997 * (OF/2 is the Operator Facility configurator for the 3172 ICP code). * * 1.This adds the "resp_len" sliding window back in, * it was removed in V350, but it is actually needed * to allow the ACK frames coming back up to the MVS * tcpip to go straight up without waiting for the * 10 Millisecond timer to pop. * This problem can be seen during an FTP from the mainframe * out through the 3172 to a remote workstation. * The frames flow out until an ACK is needed from the * remote, then that ACK comes back in to the 3172. * That ACK will be blocked into a channel block and * because the resp_len parm is disabled (ie set to 10) * that solo frame will have to wait for 10 Milliseconds * until the wait timer pops to send the block up to the host. * So, you might see these delays accumulate into a slow * FTP thru-put. * PLXX473 is available that prohibits any broadcast frames * from triggering the block release. * When you have PLXX473 installed, you can use PLXX472 to * set resp_len to 100. So the FTP situation is resolved * and the broadcast-frames-triggering the block situation * is resolved. * * 2.Improved help for "default" and "primary" channel path. * 3.prohibited "install c: a:" . * 4.escon box_mgr cannot have the same logical path as data path, * added warning message to prohibit this. * *--------end of PLXX472--------------------------------------------- * * --------- Following if the text from PLXX468, which PLXX472 includes.. * PLXX468 - APAR= IR35777 * OF/2 (V350 or PLXX455 level) does not do RESTORE profiles correctly. * If you do a restore with V350 to diskette, then delete that 3172, * then do a backup from diskette, this can fail with certain profiles. * Symptom - The 3172 that you restored will be visable on the OF/2 screen, * but none of the profiles associated with it are present. * * * and, 3172 OF/2 (V350 or PLXX455 level) does not create working * diskettes correctly after a migration of pre-V350 profiles * that had the sna-network-management (Box_Mgr) function defined * for an escon-single slot adapter. * The $TOMG lines in the CONTROLR.CFG file on the working diskette 1 * is not written correctly. * Symptom - You will be able to IPL, but will not be able to vary on * the paths for the Box_Mgr. * * -------------------------------------------------------------------- * Below is the text from PLXX455, an earlier fix of OF/2. * (PLXX468 superceeds and replaces PLXX455). **************************************************************** *PLXX455 V3500 OF/2 Mar 31, 1997 * * * APAR= IR34596 * 3172 OF/2 TRAPS WITH SYS3172 ERROR AT EIP=E7B5 CSLIM=FB39 * WHEN CREATING WORKING DISKETTES. * ERROR DESCRIPTION: * 3172 Operator Facility hits a SYS3175 at EIP E7B5 CSLIM FB39 * when creating working diskettes. Configuration must have * been migrated from previous release, and have a parallel channel * with the SNA management connection configured (NETVIEW). * * Also included. The "Trace data path" cmd file was not always * correct when tracing TCP/IP connections. The statement * "TRACE FFFFFFFF" without a task name was incorrectly * inserted at the end of the file. * LOCAL FIX: * PLXX455 for ICP 3.5. Also, there is an easy work around for * this. Edit the failing profile and find the gateway definition * for the "BOX_MGR" connection. Then select this definition for * editing (CHANGE) as if you were changing the subchannel. * Then after bringing up the change panel select OK. (Nothing * needs to be changed). This should correct the problem * *---------end of plxx455 package----------------------------------
