Reference Programming Announcement ZP92-0213, dated February 18, 1992, for information regarding the IBM Enhanced 5250 Emulation Program Version 2.3.
Planned General Availability Date is May 1993
Businesses which have provided training for their employees in the use of the IBM Enhanced 5250 Emulation Program Version 2.3 can take advantage of a new hardware platform, that is the Micro Channel desktop, without needing to retrain their employees.
This program eliminates any impact to businesses who have invested employee training expense in the IBM Enhanced 5250 Emulation Program Version 2.3 and would now like to install new 5250 Emulation desktops based on the IBM Micro Channel Standard. It enables the use of a common 5250 terminal emulation application on both of IBM's desktop platforms - PC AT(R) and Micro Channel.
National Language Support is provided for the same 7 languages that are available with the IBM Enhanced 5250 Emulation Program Version 2.3: U.S. English, U.K. English, French, German, Spanish, Belgian-Dutch and Belgian-French.
Publication updates are included in the Micro Channel Support Version 1.0 program package. Current users of the IBM Enhanced 5250 Emulation Program Version 2.3 can use these pages to update their existing Program User's Guide and Program Technical Reference. These update pages are also available as a separately-orderable Technical Newsletter and will be automatically shipped with orders of the User's Guide.
The Program User's Guide, Program Technical Reference and Technical Newsletter can be purchased separately if required. To order, contact your IBM representative.
