IBM ThinkPad June 30, 1997 MPEG Features Diskette for Windows 95 Version 1.12 ================================================== What This Diskette Does ----------------------- The accompanying MPEG Features Diskette can enable or update MPEG function in the ThinkPad system. The following models are supported: - ThinkPad 760ED, 760XD, 765D Released Version ---------------- Version 1.00 New model support Version 1.10 A fix for some problems Version 1.11 A fix for some problems Version 1.12 A fix for some problems Summary of Change ----------------- Key: Diskette version (for example, 1.00 means Version 1.00) (New) New function or enhancement (Fix) Correction to existing function <1.00> - (New) Support for ThinkPad 760ED. <1.10> - (Fix) The power saving function is updated. - (Fix) The out-of-lip-sync problem for the PAL clip with irregular resolution size. - (Fix) MPEG video halts during chapter seek. - (Fix) The flashing noise in specific MPEG file play. - (Fix) Thermal problem. <1.11> - (Fix) System hang in MPEG play when docked into PCI Docking station <1.12> - (Fix) MPEG video of a small file size cannot be played repeatedly. Installation Guide ------------------ Note: - Use this driver diskette only for the ThinkPad models listed above. - Before installing, make sure that you have installed the following software in the computer: - Video Features Diskette for Windows 95 (Version 1.10 or above) - Mwave DSP Features Diskette for Windows 95 - Video Capture Driver II for Windows 95 (Version 1.11 or above) 1. Start Windows 95. 2. Open My Computer. 3. Go to Control Panel, and then go to Add New Hardware. 4. Click on Next. When asked "Search for your new hardware?," select No. 5. Click on Next and select Sound, video and game controller. 6. Click on Next. 7. Insert the MPEG Features Diskette for Windows 95 into the diskette drive. Click on Have Disk.... 8. Select IBM MPEG CD-i/VideoCD (mci) and click on OK. 9. Click on OK, and click on Finish. 10. When Windows 95 prompts you to restart the computer, click on No. Repeat step 3 to 10 to install IBM MPEG Files/ISO9660 (mci). On step 8, however, select IBM MPEG Files/ISO9660 (mci). 11. When Windows 95 prompts you to restart the computer, click on No. Repeat step 3 to 10 to install IBM MPEG PCI Bridge. On step 8, however, select IBM MPEG PCI Bridge. 12. If this is the first time to install IBM MPEG PCI Bridge, you must do the following one-time operation. Select the following in sequence. Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager -> Other Devices ->PCI Multimedia Device. Select Remove and OK (This procedure removes the device from the unknown class and adds it to sound, video, and game controllers). 13. Shut down the system and reboot.
