Excerpt from the original announcement letter;

"The Personal System/2 (R)(PS/2(R)) Model 95 XP 486 systems are a series of high performance, highly expandable floor-standing systems, based on IBM's Micro Channel (TM) architecture and 32-bit 80486 processors. With disk storage capability of up to 1.6 billion bytes, these systems are especially suited as LAN servers and multi-user hosts. The IBM Personal System/2 Model 95 XP 486 systems provide technical leadership and reflects IBM's responsiveness to satisfy customers requirements. Through a unique design of the system, the 80486 processor is contained on a removable processor complex. This expandable processor feature of the IBM Personal System/2 Model 95 XP 486 allows processor upgrade from the 25MHz to the more powerful 33MHz system. The ability to upgrade can extend the life of the system as customer requirements for enhanced processing performance grow."
