"The Personal System/2(R) Models 56 SLC and 56 SLC LS are three-slot, two-bay Micro Channel(R) systems designed to provide a small footprint, low price general business and Local Area Network (LAN) workstation solution. PS/2 Models 56 SLC and SLC LS feature the new IBM 386 SLC 20MHz microprocessor. This processor includes 8KB of internal cache with the cache controller and offers significant performance improvement over other 386 SX systems. The PS/2 Model 56 SLC offers two models with SCSI fixed disk capacities of 80MB (million byte) (8556-055) and 160MB (8556-059). The PS/2 Model 56 SLC LS system units (15X, 25X) are medialess LAN stations that shipped with all of the standard features of the Model 56 SLC with the following exception: no DASD devices are installed, but a 16/4Mbps Token Ring network card with RIPL (25X) or twisted pair/thick Ethernet card with RIPL (15X) occupies one of three slots. The PS/2 Model 56 SLC LS is fully upgradable to the Model 56 SLC configurations."
